LSU just added a big-time running back to its 2027 recruiting class.
The Tigers have earned a commitment from 4-star running back Trey Martin, who is among the top-ranked players in the state of Louisiana for this cycle.
News of his commitment was first shared by Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday:
Martin is a massive pickup for the Tigers. He’s currently regarded as the No. 128 overall player and the No. 12 running back in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the sixth-best prospect from the state of Louisiana.

Martin had offers from numerous top programs, including SEC foes like Alabama and Florida. His initial offer from LSU came back in October of 2025.
Martin attends Franklin Parish High School in Winnsboro, Louisiana. He’s listed at 5-foot-10, 202 pounds.
LSU is now up to 12 commits in the class of 2027. Martin is the third running back to join the fold as the Tigers also have commitments from David Segarra and Brennen Lacey. All three runnings backs have committed to LSU this month.
LSU’s 2027 class ranks No. 23 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Early Signing Period for the 2027 cycle is slated for December.
