As a freshman, Curne logged snaps at right and left tackle in his debut season, making 5 total starts. Out of Marion (Arkansas) High School, Curne was rated 4-stars, the No. 1 player in the state, No. 3 interior offensive lineman and No. 71 prospect overall in the Class of 2025 on the 247Sports Composite.
Curne was recruited to LSU by offensive line coach Brad Davis. The Tigers won out over Arkansas, Florida, Georgia and others to sign Curne. One of new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin‘s first staff moves was to bring in Eric Wolford as the Tigers’ new OL coach. Wolford has 3 decades of coaching experience, including SEC stops at South Carolina, Kentucky and Alabama.
