LSU made a major transfer portal addition on Friday morning.
The Tigers have signed ex-Tennessee edge rusher Jordan Ross, according to a report. That’s per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer, who note that Ross was one of the very best recruits in the country back in the class of 2024.
Ross played significant snaps in both of his seasons in Knoxville, but had a bigger impact in 2025. This past fall, he recorded 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also forced and recovered 1 fumble.
His departure is a big loss for Tennessee. He was the No. 22 overall player and the No. 3 edge rusher in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
His transfer portal ranking isn’t quite as high despite his solid production and good prospect quality. Per 247Sports’ transfer portal rankings, Ross is the No. 14 edge rusher to enter the portal so far this offseason.
Still, this is a big addition for an LSU defense that will look to continue some strong momentum going into the 2026 season under defensive coordinator Blake Baker.
