LSU freshman running back JT Lindsey was arrested on a charge of accessory after the fact on Friday.
That news was first reported by WAFB. Lindsey is accused of allowing two teenagers who were wanted on second-degree murder charges to stay in his LSU dorm room earlier this year. Lindsey turned himself into university police on Friday after an arrest warrant was issued, per the report.
Lindsey’s attorney, Kris Perret, told WAFB that Lindsey was unaware the men were wanted for murder when he allowed them to stay in his dorm. Perret also said there are no allegations that Lindsey was involved in the “underlying crime.” He is maintaining his innocence.
“At this time, guys, we are cooperating with LSU PD,” Perret said, via WAFB. “My client maintains he’s fully innocent of all charges and any wrongdoing. We hope to get this straightened out pretty quick, and that’s all we have to say at this point. We will have more later.”
Lindsey is from Alexandria, Louisiana. He signed with the Tigers as a 4-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. Caden Durham and Kaleb Jackson are expected to receive most of LSU’s carries this season, but Lindsey could be in line for a reserve role pending the outcome of this legal situation.
LSU will play its first game of the season against Clemson on Aug. 30.
