LSU standout linebacker Whit Weeks was listed as out on Friday night’s SEC availability report, meaning he’s set to miss his 4th straight game on Saturday when the Tigers host Arkansas.
Earlier on Friday, On3 had reported that Weeks was likely to miss LSU‘s Week 12 matchup against the Razorbacks. The On3 report also said that Weeks’ status was “unclear” for the rest of the 2025 season.
Weeks was listed as questionable on LSU’s initial availability report on Wednesday night, then after practice on Thursday he was called a “gameday decision” by interim head coach Frank Wilson.
Weeks’ junior season has been marred by the ankle injury that just won’t go away. He has missed LSU’s past 3 games with a bone bruise in his ankle, and the Tigers have lost all 3 of those games to fall to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the SEC. During that time, LSU also fired head coach Brian Kelly, so clearly the absence of Weeks has proved costly right in the middle of the season.
The On3 report earlier Friday seemed to hint Weeks was going to miss his 4th straight game, and that was confirmed later Friday night when the availability report was released for Saturday’s 12:45 p.m. ET kickoff on SEC Network. Weeks aggravated the ankle injury against Ole Miss back in Week 5, and he hasn’t played since Oct. 11 against South Carolina.
The ankle problem goes back to last season for Weeks, who suffered a broken ankle during LSU’s bowl game against Baylor.
With Weeks being limited on the field this season, he has managed just 26 total tackles, 12 of them solo, with 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery. With Friday night’s development, he won’t be adding to those totals on Saturday against Arkansas.
