LSU welcomes NFL players to campus in latest SEC Shorts

The 2026 college football season is here, and SEC Shorts is tackling one of the sport’s most pressing issues. In the newest clip from SEC Shorts, LSU welcomes NFL players to campus.
Baton Rouge is reported to be the desired landing spot for multiple players who took part in the NFL preseason but are seeking to play another season of college football, applying the NCAA’s new 5-in-5 eligibility policy via court orders. Former Ole Miss players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris have committed to LSU to play another season with former Rebels coach Lane Kiffin. Jack Pyburn, the preseason sack leader, is expected to return to LSU if he clears waivers after being let go Sunday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In the clip, the incoming former NFL player watches the recently cut college player move out of his dorm. We also see the NFL player in Cleveland Browns gear (Wright was with the Browns) take a photo for his student ID card and play intramural football with fellow students.
This being SEC Shorts, there are some humorous suggestions for use of the student “Tiger Card.” A scrolling list includes Louisiana state judge re-election fund, NFL signing bonus repayment, agent commission, agent’s agent commission, select bail bondsmen, Baton Rouge state capital slush fund and most Louisiana state trooper traffic stops.

Monday’s clip may have a short shelf life. A Thursday hearing will determine the status of the temporary restraining order against the NCAA and the SEC.
