The LSU Tigers are in pursuit of a quarterback to pair with new head coach Lane Kiffin. And like the Tigers’ chase of Kiffin, they’re going after the biggest name available.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, former Cincinnati quarterback Brennan Sorsby will visit LSU in the coming days. The rising redshirt senior is in Lubbock today visiting Texas Tech, but has the Tigers next-up on his docket. Sorsby is the No. 1 player in ESPN’s transfer portal rankings.
Sorsby threw for 2,800 yards, 27 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for Cincinnati in 2025. He added another 580 yards and 9 touchdowns as a rusher. Sorsby went 7-5 as a Bearcat this year and 5-7 with them in 2024 after spending 2 seasons at Indiana.
The combined might of LSU and Kiffin would be a difficult combination to turn down for any player, let alone a quarterback of Sorsby’s caliber. However, there is a reason he visited the Red Raiders before the Tigers. His girlfriend, volleyball player Gretchen Sigman, recently transferred from Cincinnati to Texas Tech herself.
With his significant other already there, it would make a lot of sense for Sorsby to go to Texas Tech. Perhaps the thought of playing for Kiffin and potentially establishing himself as a legitimate NFL prospect will be too enticing for him to pass up, though. Him picking a destination could set off a domino effect in the college QB market. As a result, plenty of eyes will be on him in the days and weeks ahead.
