Luther Burden III is one of the best wide receivers in the country. But on Saturday, the Missouri superstar faces a monumental task at Georgia. He’s ready for it.

Burden, who is from East St. Louis High School, famously chose Missouri over Alabama and Georgia, and during an ESPN/SEC Network segment, coach Eli Drinkwitz recalled how the announcement came down.

“It’s the first time I’ve landed a recruit that was going to have that much impact,” Drinkwitz said. “… There’s always something he does in a game, I’m like, ‘You know, I haven’t seen that before.”

For example, in the Kansas State game, Burden scored on a touchdown when Drinkwitz said the ball wasn’t supposed to go to Burden. Burden said he was prepared for the moment, and it was just like practice.

“I want to continue being me, and when my opportunity comes, I want to seize it the best I can,” Burden said.

Burden said it’s home state pride.

“Being able to put on for my home state, it’s everything you want growing up,” Burden said.
