Mac Jones turned in another strong performance in his second NFL preseason game. Cam Newton got the start for the New England Patriots against the Philadelphia Eagles with Jones coming in off the bench.
Jones went 13-of-19 for 146 yards a touchdown. Three of those incompletions were drops.

Heck of a deep throw by Mac Jones. Harry canโt quite bring it in and heโs also injured on the play. (Via @BenBrownPL) pic.twitter.com/aKFYpzVZ5f

On Twitter, fans and media members were impressed by another strong showing from Jones. Here’s a small sample of what media members and fans had to say about the rookie QB’s second preseason game:
Mac Jones has been sharp too. Patriots have to be happy with their quarterback play tonight, even if itโs with the caveat that Philly sat some key guys.

Mac Jones looks a lot better than some of his fiercest critics were claiming at draft time.
It's just preseason, but it's hard to not be impressed so far.

One day I will interview Mac Jones and he will say Iโm so thankful the 49ers didnโt draft me! If youโre watching this game! Itโs just a Match Period

I have three drops (Harry, Ross and Asiasi), but Mac Jones is 13/19 for 146 yards and a 91.1 quarterback rating tonight.

Mac Jones has been poised, dealt with pressure, made a couple beauty throws.
What happens week 1 is up to Belichick, but the future looks bright

Iโm sorry, but Mac Jones looks better than most quarterbacks Iโve seen in the league for the past decade
