The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in just a few days, and Lionel Messi and his Argentina squad were able to take in the sights and sounds of Kyle Field as they beat Honduras, 2-0 in an exhibition matchup last Saturday.
Following the exhibition matchup, Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was shown in a video meeting the superstar and gifting him one of his No. 10 jerseys. Of course, Messi also wears No. 10 for Inter Miami and the Argentina national team.

Unfortunately for any Aggies fans in attendance at Kyle Field, Messi did not play on Saturday as he deals with a hamstring injury in preparation for the start of the World Cup. Argentina opens play on June 16 against Algeria.
According to Yahoo! Sports, multiple Texas A&M star, both former and current players, were at Kyle Field to watch the exhibition action on Saturday. Joining Reed was Rueben Owens, Von Miller and Isaiah Horton, who transferred in from Alabama this offseason.
Argentina of course won the World Cup in 2022, finishing with a thrilling matchup against France that went down as one of the best sporting events of the 21st century as Messi and France’s Kylian Mbappe duked it out in Qatar.
