The No. 4 Miami Hurricanes have gotten off to one of the hottest starts of any team in the country over the past few weeks, and now they are set to face off against a faltering Florida Gators squad this Saturday in a highly anticipated rivalry matchup.

While the Gators have gotten off to a very ugly start to their 2025 season, that doesn’t mean that they don’t have some serious talent up and down their roster, and Canes’ head coach Mario Cristobal isn’t overlooking this key fact.

Cristobal sat down with ESPN analyst and podcaster Pat McAfee during Friday’s episode of the Pat McAfee Show to discuss what he expects to see from the Gators and how they are actually one of the “most talented” teams the Canes have faced in the past few seasons.

“They’re one of the most talented teams we’ve seen in the past 4 years,” Cristobal said. “They’ve got speed, they’ve got size, they’ve got a great scheme and great coaching. We always expect everybody’s best, and we’re looking forward to an unbelievable opportunity.”

While Florida’s record may not reflect three weeks of action, they do possess an immense amount of talent at every level of their roster, a fact that has made their early failure all the more disappointing.

Cristobal and his team aren’t looking past the Gators just because they’ve stumbled out of the gate, though, and he’s sure to have his guys ready to go come kickoff time in Hard Rock Stadium.
