Miami running back Mark Fletcher Jr. was seen throwing a punch at Indiana defensive lineman Tyrique Tucker after their loss in the National Championship.
Fletcher had himself quite the day, rushing for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, tempers spilled over, causing him to lash out during the postgame. It’s unclear if anything was said or done to provoke Fletcher.
The Hoosier that Fletcher swung at is junior DL Tyrique Tucker. Tucker transferred to Indiana from JMU, following head coach Curt Cignetti. In the 2025 season, Tucker totaled 38 tackles and 6 sacks. In the National Championship game, Tucker had just one tackle.
Fletcher had a cool moment with South Florida native and Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza after the game ended. Here’s a clip of his exchange with Mendoza:
Fletcher is set to return to Miami for his senior season in 2026. The junior rushed for over 1,100 yards this season with 12 touchdowns. In Miami’s College Football Playoff run, Fletcher had games of 172 yards, 90 yards, 133 yards, and 112 yards. He also added two touchdowns, both in the National Championship.
