The college football world was shaken up Saturday night as South Carolina upset No. 5 Tennessee, which seemed like a lock to win out and make the College Football Playoff.

Fans and members of the media reacted to the loss throughout the night and Sunday morning. Matt Barrie and Paul Finebaum gave their evaluations of the Vols Sunday.

“Now you wonder where this Tennessee program goes based on a perfect storm they were building with this year,” Barrie said.

Finebaum went on to say that if you told Tennessee fans before the season that they’d be 9-3 or 10-2 they would have been really happy. Finebaum then praises the Gamecocks for being able to bounce back after a bad loss to Florida and come into the game with unwavering confidence.

Finebaum finishes by reminding fans that Tennessee’s defense has been “suspect” all season and long and that teams like Alabama torched the Vols’ defense.

Now Tennessee has to put the loss behind it and try to finish out the season on a positive note against Vanderbilt.
