Michael Fasusi receives injury update ahead of Week 4 at Georgia, per report

The Oklahoma Sooners have a stiff test this weekend against the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs. Head coach Brent Venables will need quarterback John Mateer to be at his best for the Sooners to escape the hedges of Athens with a victory. Unfortunately, Mateer’s job likely won’t be any easier than either man hopes.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Oklahoma left tackle Michael Fasusi “faces long odds to play at Georgia.” The sophomore lineman allowed just four sacks on 395 pass-blocking snaps as a true freshman in 2025.
Fasusi picked up a shoulder injury vs. the UTEP Miners in Week 1. That ailment forced him to miss meetings with the Michigan Wolverines and New Mexico Lobos.
Fasusi, a native of Nigeria, was the No. 5 overall player in 247Sports’ Composite rankings of the 2025 recruiting class. He became the top offensive lineman in the class while playing at Lewisville High School in Texas.
Oklahoma’s offense failed to reach 300 total yards vs. both Michigan and New Mexico and combined for just 24 points against the two teams. Fasusi’s return would give the Sooners a much better chance of topping that threshold this weekend. Oklahoma and Georgia kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T. (ESPN) on Saturday.
