Mike Elko shares Bucky McMillan’s hilarious response to congratulatory message
The vibes in College Station are at an all-time high. Texas A&M‘s football team is undefeated and ranked No. 3 in the initial 2025 College Football Playoff rankings. Meanwhile, the Bucky McMillan Era in basketball got underway with a 98-68 win versus Northwestern State on Monday night.
On the Aggie Football Hour, Mike Elko revealed he sent McMillan a congratulatory text about picking up a victory in his debut. McMillan appreciated the gesture, and offered a tremendous reply, saying he “couldn’t lose a game” before Elko did.
No offense to McMillan, but Aggies fans are probably hoping he loses before Elko does. Texas A&M should be fine versus Texas Southern on the hardwood tonight (8 p.m. ET, SEC Network+). Elko and the football team face much stiffer competition on Saturday, traveling to No. 22 Missouri. A win there would improve the Aggies to 9-0 and all but lock up a CFP berth.
If the football team can get by Mizzou, it hosts South Carolina (Nov. 15) and Samford (Nov. 22) before heading to Texas on Nov. 28. The basketball team would have to beat a pair of Big 12 foes (Oklahoma State, UCF) and prevail on home court versus Montana, Manhattan and Mississippi Valley State to reach the same date unbeaten. The night of Nov. 28, they battle Florida State.
