Leach was so much more than a football coach, but he was an excellent one. He co-invented the Air Raid offense with Hal Mumme at Iowa Wesleyan, taking inspiration from much of the concepts from LaVell Edwards and the BYU football football team’s high-flying offense when he was a student in Provo studying law.
The college football world will deeply miss his charisma and wacky antics that made the game better.
