Mississippi State QB Kamario Taylor earns rave reviews at Manning Passing Academy
Expectations are rising for Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor.
Taylor mostly served as a backup for the Bulldogs last season during his freshman year, but took over down the stretch and played well in a bowl game loss to Wake Forest. He earned an invite to the Manning Passing Academy and has quickly been identified as one of the most talented signal-callers at the event.
Nola.com columnist Jeff Duncan called Taylor the “most intriguing” quarterback he saw at the Manning Passing Academy skills contest on Friday, touting his arm strength and athleticism.

On3’s Wilson Alexander shared video of one of Taylor’s biggest throws of the night โ a perfectly-placed deep ball. Here’s a look:
Last season, Taylor completed 56% of his passes for 629 yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 interception. He averaged an impressive 8.9 yards per attempt, albeit in limited playing time. Taylor also rushed for 456 yards and 8 more touchdowns on the ground.
Mississippi State will be hoping Taylor has a massive 2026 season and can lead the Bulldogs back to bowl eligibility for the first time under Jeff Lebby.
