Mississippi State got off to a hot start thanks to the quarterback/running back duo of Kamario Taylor and Fluff Bothwell. But injuries to both players have dampened the hype around the Bulldogs. It’s culminated in losses to Alabama and LSU in consecutive weeks.

There’s at least a chance both will be available for Week 8’s game at Davis Wade Stadium against Oklahoma. Taylor and Bothwell were listed as questionable on the SEC‘s initial availability report released on Thursday.

Saturday won’t be just any game for the Bulldogs: it will be their annual Blackout Game. Mississippi State wide receiver Anthony Evans III modeled the Bulldogs’ “Dark Mode” look in a social media video posted on Thursday:

With Taylor injured, the Bulldogs have turned to Parker Puckett. The true freshman threw for 121 yards on 16-of-26 passing and threw an interception during the Week 7 loss to LSU. He also ran 11 times for 30 yards.

Kolin Wilson has stepped in as Mississippi State’s primary running back during Bothwell’s absence. The redshirt freshman totaled 18 carries for 71 yards against the Tigers.

Saturday marks the first time Mississippi State and Oklahoma have met on the gridiron. The Sooners are 3-3 overall (1-3 SEC) after a 21-13 loss to Kentucky.
