One of the top prospects in the state of Missouri made it known on Friday. He’s staying home.

Mizzou has landed a verbal commitment from St. Louis (Mo.) University defender Keenan Harris. The blue-chip recruit is listed as a safety on recruiting services, but he’s being recruited to Mizzou to play linebacker. And he has been a major target throughout the process for coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff. In the 247 Composite, Harris is the fifth-ranked recruit in the state for the 2026 cycle.

Prior to his commitment, he had a top 8 that also included Oklahoma, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Oregon, and Kansas State.

Harris is a 6-foot-1, 210-pounder who stars for St. Louis University. As a junior last fall, he posted 108 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 2 sacks. His play earned him a first-team All-Metro and first-team All-State nod from the St. Louis Metro Football Coaches Association. He looks like a candidate to fill the STAR position as a hybrid player in the Mizzou defense.

In the 247 Composite, Harris is listed as a 4-star prospect. He sits at No. 365 overall in the national player rankings.

Harris joins quarterback Gavin Sidwar as the second recruit to publicly commit to Mizzou this cycle. You can see his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
