One of the most sought-after recruits has Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina in his final five, but he’s far from a lock from playing in the SEC next season.
Clemmons, N.C. DE KJ Henry named the Crimson Tide, Bulldogs and Gamecocks along with Clemson and Virginia Tech in what he called a final five on his Twitter account. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound weak-side defensive end is rated No. 2 at his position, No. 2 in the state of North Carolina and No. 14 overall according to 247Sports‘ composite rankings. On the site’s Crystal Ball predictions, 10 recruiting experts have picked where he’ll go, with all 10 predicting he joins the Tigers.
Henry spoke to Rivals about all five schools, and said not to sleep on Virginia Tech, stressing that he is considering all five equally. When it comes to Alabama, he said that he’s felt comfortable with the staff throughout his recruitment.
He offered more details about his interest in Georgia, calling Athens the nicest college town he’s visited. Henry also expressed interest in playing with fellow North Carolina product and UGA commit Zamir White, the No. 1 running back in the 2018 class.
If he’s looking for guaranteed playing time, he may choose South Carolina. Henry noted the appeal of being able to make an immediate impact with the Gamecocks. The full comments on all five schools can be found here. His highlights can be viewed below.
