Though there were some concerns that Florida was pursuing Justin Fields, the nation’s No. 2 overall player and No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, the drama was taken out of the situation when the Gators landed QB Emory Jones.
Fields has been committed to the Bulldogs since October, and made things official with Georgia on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs officially announced Fields’ signing via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, ending any speculation about a last-second flip:

According to the 247Sports composite, Fields is the No. 2 overall player in the 2018 class, the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of Georgia.
The Bulldogs have put together quite the 2018 class already, landing Fields, top running backs Zamir White and James Cook, and several other elite prospects.
Georgia has a lot of momentum, and could land the nation’s No. 1 overall recruiting class before all is said and done.
