Shane Beamer has had plenty of good memories at Williams-Brice Stadium as a former South Carolina assistant under Steve Spurrier. The Gamecocks’ new head coach will be hoping for more in the coming years.
South Carolina released a short video on Sunday of Beamer walking on the Williams-Brice field shortly after being announced as the 36th head coach in program history. He recounted a story of how Spurrier and his wife, Jerri, used to host Easter egg hunts at the stadium, which his young daughter participated in.
It made for an emotional memory for Beamer, who began to be choked up while recounting the story.

Beamer certainly seems to be enjoying his return to Columbia already after 10 years away from the program. And he will be hard at work over the next few weeks beginning to piece together his staff and build relationships with his new players as he looks to bring the program back to respectability after a 2-8 record in 2020.
