Former Hoover High School standout Nick Curtis is returning home.

After one season with Kent State, the former Hoover linebacker announced on Sunday evening that he plans to transfer to Auburn.

“Thank you Kent State for the opportunity to play football at the next level but I will be transferring to Auburn University. #WarEagle,” Curtis posted.

Curtis will begin his Auburn career as a walk-on in Gus Malzahn’s program after appearing in just one game for Kent State during his only season with the MAC program.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Curtis was a three-star recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle and signed with Kent State over scholarship offers from UAB, FAU, Troy, Southern Miss and Tulane, among others.
