Notre Dame earns commitment from 4-star QB Wonderful Monds
CJ Carr is expected to do big things for the Fighting Irish in 2026, but Notre Dame may have landed its quarterback of the future on Friday afternoon.
According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Notre Dame has earned a commitment from 4-star quarterback Wonderful Monds IV. Monds, whose nickname is ‘Champ,’ also had offers from a number of top programs across the country.
Monds is among the best quarterbacks in the nation for his recruiting class. He’s currently ranked as the No. 264 overall player and the No. 20 signal-caller in the country for the 2027 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Monds is also the latest player from the state of Florida to commit to the Fighting Irish. He attends Vero Beach High School and is ranked as the No. 24 player from the Sunshine State.
As has usually been the case under Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame appears to be building an elite high school recruiting class for the 2027 cycle. With Monds now in the fold, Notre Dame’s class has 12 commits and is ranked No. 6 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Of those 12 recruits, 10 are currently 4-star prospects.
Monds and other Notre Dame commits will be able to officially sign with the Fighting Irish during the Early Signing Period in December.
