Notre Dame revealed the first of its new sports-specific Leprechaun logos earlier today.
The Football Leprechaun mark is the first of Notre Dame’s new sport-specific marks to be unveiled this year. The traditional Fighting Irish Leprechaun will be replaced by a leprechaun running and holding a football.
Here’s a look:
Here’s an excerpt from Notre Dame’s press release detailing how the mark was designed:
The new mark was designed in-house by Fighting Irish Media, with input from the many around our athletic programs and inspired by photo, fundamentals and running styles from former and current student-athletes.
The press release goes on to mention that this will not be the only team-specific mark released during the 2025-26 school year. Other sports are expected to adopt similar marks in the coming weeks and months.
The change comes just 10 days before the start of Notre Dame’s 2025 season. The Fighting Irish have College Football Playoff aspirations again in 2025 after making it all the way to the national title game last year.
Notre Dame will open this campaign on the road against Miami on Aug. 31. Kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
