Only two years into his NFL career, former LSU receiver Odell Beckham has more than made a name for himself. The Giants star receiver’s cousin is well-equipped to do the same.
Many news outlets have caught windย that Terron Beckham is eyeing a career in the NFL and is currently training for the 2016 National Scouting Combine held on Feb. 25. That event is separate from the NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held from Feb. 23-29.
The National Scouting Combine is by invite-only and is intendedย for promising athletes whoย weren’t selected to the NFL Scouting Combine, and it’s held in the same city of Indianapolis.
One thing is clear: The 5-foot-11, 230-poundย Beckham — hoping to be a running back — won’t have any problems wowing scouts at the event becauseย in terms ofย sheer athleticism, he’s unlike mostย athletes looking to enter the league.
Beckhamย is currently training at TEST Football Academy in New Jersey. TEST Sports Clubs CEO Kevin Dunn, who has done combine training forย many NFL players, spoke with Kristian Dyer of Giants Wire at USA Today aboutย his phenomenal exploits.
โAt his most recent mock pro day he recorded a 4.50 in the 40, 11-feet-six-inches broad jump, 46-inch vertical โ which breaks the all-time combine record of 45 inches โ and put up a whopping 42 reps on the 225 bench test,โ Dunn said.ย โIโve never seen a display of athleticism like this in my 20-yearย careerย in this industry.โ
By the way, those 42 reps would shatter the NFL Scouting Combine record of 36 reps by a running back.
Beckham’s last action in football was in high school and never played college ball. He’s been working as a personal trainer in New York City along with being anย actor/stuntman. He’s also been published as a fitness model, according to his Twitter bio, where his approximate 2,800 followers falls a tadย shy of Odell’s 732,000.
That number could be picking up very soon, though.
