Odell Beckham Jr. may not be on an NFL roster right now, but he’s certainly not retired.

A post on X Tuesday morning that appeared to be from Adam Schefter claimed that the former LSU star and NFL veteran had retired after 10 seasons in the NFL. The only problem was a) the account in question was AdamSche1fer and b) Beckham isn’t retired. At least not yet.

Later in the day, Beckham (the real one) responded with a post of his own:

Beckham spent 2024 with the Miami Dolphins before being released on Dec. 13. He appeared in 9 games and made just 9 catches for 55 yards.

The 3-time Pro Bowler and former Offensive Rookie of the Year, who had over 1,000 yards receiving in 5 of his first 6 seasons in the NFL — including 1,450 yards in 2015 — has seen his career derailed by injury over the past number of years. He tore his ACL in 2020 and eventually signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2021, but was later released. He then signed with the Los Angeles Rams and helped them advance to Super Bowl LVI, but suffered another ACL tear in that game.

After sitting out the 2022 season, Beckham signed with the Baltimore Ravens for the 2023 campaign. He was released in March 2024 before signing with the Dolphins.
