Oklahoma Sooners pledge Jaxsen Stokes announced on Sunday that he has flipped his commitment from Oklahoma to Cal. He originally committed to play for the Sooners in November of 2025, but now he’ll be heading out west to play for Tosh Lupoi and Co in Berkeley.
Well, technically, he won’t be venturing too far from home. Stokes, a Los Angeles native, attends Sierra Canyon high school and has elected to stay in the Golden State for his next phase of football.
Stokes is a 3-star prospect in the Class of 2027 and stands at 5-9, 190 pounds. As his stature would suggest, Stokes is lightning quick and has speed that will absolutely translate to the next level.
According to 247Sports, Stokes is considered to be the No. 691 overall prospect in the cycle, as well as the No. 50 RB and No. 56 player out of the state of California.
Admittedly, Stokes’ departure doesn’t hurt the Sooners too much on the recruiting trail. Oklahoma boasts the No. 1 class in the 2027 cycle according to 247Sports with 19 total commitments, including a pledge from 4-star RB Keldrid Ben, the No. 11 RB in the country.
