Ole Miss senior linebacker Serderius Bryant has been selected to compete in the upcoming Medal of Honor Bowl, a postseason showcase all-star game for college seniors hoping to advance to the NFL.
This year marks the inaugural Medal of Honor Bowl, and Bryant will compete for the National Team when the game kicks off from Charleston, S.C., on Jan. 10.
The two-year starter at outside linebacker was an All-SEC selection in 2013, recording 78 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and three forced fumbles. He followed that season with 65 tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss and and an interception as a senior in 2014.
Bryant is considered too small to play linebacker in the NFL, standing just 5-foot-9 and weighing just 220 pounds. He is listed as a strong safety on CBS Sports’ NFL Draft prospect rankings, and is considered a fringe seventh-round pick.
Fellow Ole Miss seniors Cody Prewitt and Senquez Golson will join Serderius Bryant as all-star selections, accepting invites to participate in the Senior Bowl later this month.
