Trinidad Chambliss got the start for Ole Miss against Arkansas, as Austin Simmons suffered the injury last week in the win against Kentucky. He got off to a fast start, completing nine of his first 11 passes for 177 yards, and he looked in total command of the offense. He was also showcasing his legs, as he also had two rushing touchdowns.

However, he was forced to leave the game with a hand injury, and Simmons had to limp on the field and fill in for him.

Simmons was able to come in and finish the drive to Harrison Wallace III, hitting him for a 10-yard touchdown. Simmons had to limp off the field, and it was obvious that ankle is really bothering him.

Luckily for Ole Miss, Chambliss was able to come back on the very next drive and didn’t miss a beat. He led the Rebels on a two-minute drive, and helped the team get into field goal range to take a 31-28 lead into the half.

It’s unclear if Simmons would be available should he need to re-enter the game, but he was in noticeable discomfort after coming in to the contest:

If Chambliss aggravates his hand injury, Ole Miss could have to turn to third string quarterback AJ Maddox.
