Ole Miss earns commitment from ex-Florida player, key DL target

One of the top defensive players in the transfer portal is switching SEC allegiances. Former Florida defensive lineman Michai Boireau is transferring to Ole Miss, according to On3 and 247Sports.
The 6-foot-5, 350-pound Boireau is the No. 4 defensive lineman in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.
Boireau spent 2 seasons at Florida. As a freshman he amassed 15 total tackles. This season he tallied 20 total tackles, 2 sacks, and an interception.
Boireau is the second defensive lineman to transfer to Ole Miss on Jan. 5, along with Colorado’s Jehiem Oatis. Ole Miss has six signees from the portal, including the a pair of top-15 defensive linemen to go into the 2026 campaign.
Meanwhile, despite Lane Kiffin already leaving for LSU, Ole Miss is still in contention for a national championship. Ole Miss takes on Miami on Jan. 8 in the Fiesta Bowl for a College Football Playoff semifinals matchup. This will be the first meeting between Ole Miss and Miami since 1951, which the Hurricanes won 20-7.
Ole Miss routed visiting Tulane 41-10 in the CFP first round. Ole Miss edged Georgia 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
