Ole Miss will be trying to make a statement on Saturday afternoon when it hosts No. 4 LSU in a nationally televised SEC showdown.

The Rebels have won a lot of games the past few years, but they haven’t gotten to that next level, which of course is the College Football Playoff. The 13th-ranked Rebels know if they want to finally get to the Playoff under Lane Kiffin, they need to win games like Saturday’s, which will be a battle of 4-0 teams in Oxford.

The ability to win games like this LSU battle, which will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC, depends on a lot of things and 1 of them is leadership. Earlier Saturday, Ole Miss named the 4 captains for this showdown who will be leading the Rebels. This quartet of captains have been entrusted with that leadership role in an incredibly important moment for Ole Miss football, and those 4 players include junior offensive lineman Patrick Kutas, junior linebacker TJ Dottery, senior wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling and senior defensive tackle Zxavian Harris.

Naturally, the Rebels will be depending on everybody on the roster for some form of contribution on Saturday, but being named a captain, especially for such a crucial game, gives those 4 players a lot of importance. They will try to lead Ole Miss to a victory in a revenge spot, with LSU having defeated the Rebels in overtime last year in Baton Rouge.
