Ole Miss names team captains for Saturday’s game against WSU

The 4th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels announced their captains for Saturday’s home game against Washington State (12:45 pm ET, SEC Network).
The Rebels tapped junior offensive lineman Patrick Kutas, senior safety Kapena Gushiken and senior safety De’Zhaun Stribling as captains against the Cougars.
Kutas was named a preseason All-SEC fourth teamer by Athlon after arriving through the transfer portal in January from Arkansas. Gushiken has made 16 tackles so far this season after transferring to Ole Miss from Washington State for 2025. He started in 18 games and made 25 appearances in 2 seasons in Pullman.
Stribling also transferred from Washington State after playing there in 2021-22, first going to Oklahoma State for 2023 and 2024 before heading to Oxford. He has caught 11 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown so far in 2025.
The Rebels are 5-0 heading into Saturday’s contest against the 3-2 Cougars, having taken down Georgia State, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tulane and LSU. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss leads an Ole Miss offense that is 6th in the country with 322.6 passing yards per game and 17th in the country scoring 40.6 points per outing.
