Ole Miss released what threads it will be wearing on Saturday night as it kicks off the 2025 season at home against Georgia State.
The Lane Kiffin era has delivered many victories — 44 of them exactly, since he took over in 2020. Kiffin has gone 44-18, winning double-digit games the past 2 years and in 3 of the past 4 seasons. He’s gone 25-16 in the SEC during his time in Oxford, and all of it has only increased the expectations for a fan base that’s starving for something really big.
Big, as in finally making the College Football Playoff, a plateau that has eluded the Rebels despite all of the success under Kiffin. But before they can make the Playoff, the 21st-ranked team in the country just wants a victory as a big favorite in Saturday’s opener in Oxford under the lights. The game will kick off at 7:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network, as the Rebels try to get the post-Jaxson Dart era off on the right start.
Austin Simmons will be the new signal-caller for Ole Miss, but the Rebels are turning to a “classic” look in Week 1. The Ole Miss football social media account released pictures of just how Kiffin’s team will look as it tries to finally turn those high hopes into a Playoff berth and not just another double-digit-win season.
Here is that classic look that Ole Miss will have when it battles Georgia State:
Perhaps if Ole Miss rolls to victory on Satudray night, as the ESPN FPI expects it to do, then the Rebels will don this exact uniform combination a few more times this fall.
