In 2018, Kyler Murray made it back-to-back Heisman Trophy wins for Oklahoma quarterbacks, following Baker Mayfield in 2017. LSU could make it back-to-back winners with QB Myles Brennan. In updated Heisman odds released by online sportsbook Bovada, Brennan has the best odds in the SEC at +1400.
Curiously, Bovada still lists Georgia opt-out Jamie Newman at +1600. Alabama QB Mac Jones is also at +1600 followed by Auburn QB Bo Nix at +2000.
Alabama is well-represented on the top-30 odds, with Najee Harris (+2800), Devonta Smith (+5000), Bryce Young (+5000), Jaylen Waddle (+6600) and Trey Sanders (+10000) all on the list.
Quarterbacks have dominated Heisman Trophy voting this century (with the exceptions of Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry). The Bovada oddsmakers have ACC and Big 12 quarterbacks in the top four before Brennan checks in at No. 5.
