Oregon head coach Dan Lanning is human just like the rest of us.

His squad takes on No. 3 Georgia Saturday at 3:30 on ABC. That’s a nerve-wracking first game for fans of both teams, but it’s definitely a lot of the same for Lanning (and Kirby Smart).

โ€œDo I still wake up in the middle of the night sometimes? Yeah, absolutely, like last night, but thatโ€™s normal,โ€ Lanning said, via DawgNation. โ€œl did last year some, too, so thatโ€™s football season, thatโ€™s the way it goes.โ€

He gets pretty nervous just 30 minutes before the game, too.

โ€œI was the guy that has to pee like five or six times right before the game starts, I love football, and Iโ€™m still like that,โ€ Lanning said. “So Iโ€™m sure right before I take the field, Iโ€™ll be in the urinal โ€ฆ. heck yeah I get nervous before a game, if you donโ€™t, youโ€™re lying. Iโ€™m human.โ€

It may be a funny sentiment to hear from a coach, but it’s important from a perspective standpoint. Sure, these coaches and athletes may seem like superhumans, but they have everyday problems, too.
