No. 21 Washington trails Arizona State on the road at halftime on Saturday afternoon, 24-17.

The game might not be garnering many headlines around the country but it has featured one of the year’s craziest plays.

Huskies quarterback Michel Penix dropped back to throw late in the 2nd quarter but his pass hit teammate Jaxson Kirkland in the back of the head.

The ball ricocheted into the air and was intercepted by the Sun Devils’ Jordan Clark, who returned the pick 38 for a touchdown.

The play pushed ASU’s lead to 24-10 at the time but Washington responded with a touchdown drive in the final seconds of the opening half to get back within 7.
