Pat McAfee delivers electric pick for Clemson-LSU to close College GameDay

College GameDay had an eventful morning to kick off its 2026 campaign. Once we got near kickoff for the noon slate, though, all felt right with the world.
Pat McAfee, to put a bow on the first GameDay of the season, got the Baton Rouge crowd riled up with his pick in the Clemson-LSU game.

“Everybody seemingly thinks that Lane Kiffin and this powerful roster are just gonna demolish Clemson… Dabo Swinney has won a national championship before… has Lane Kiffin done that as a head coach? No,” McAfee began. “Did Dabo Swinney find his team unranked… and use the transfer portal more than he ever has in the past… does the defense have a chance? I think, no! Give me LSU.”
McAfee further predicted that the hometown Tigers would win big, giving the Lane Kiffin Era a stupendous start.
“What you’re gonna see tonight is a team that is ready to make a run, maybe to the national championship,” McAfee said. “What you’re gonna watch tonight in Death Valley, in front of over a hundred-thousand drunk folks, is gonna be electricity… as LSU wins by maybe, 50, against Clemson… can’t lose this one if you’re Lane Kiffin.”
Clemson and LSU kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
