Paul Finebaum has spoken several times in recent days about why Alabama has struggled in recent weeks, and more broadly in certain areas over a larger swath of time.

On Tuesday, Finebaum discussed it with long-time caller “Legend,” a noted Alabama fan who has long criticized the Alabama coordinators as a primary reason for the struggles of the Crimson Tide.

Finebaum asked a rhetorical question about staff changes under Nick Saban.

“I’ll pose this question, and then answer it quickly: Why did Saban go for the recruiters,” Finebaum said. “To keep up with somebody else, right? Legend, you know what I’m talking about. He was trying to keep up with Kirby Smart.”

Legend replied, “I think you nailed it, Paul. I give Georgia some credit, ever since Kirby (Smart) left, we went downhill.”
