Paul Finebaum does a spot on SportsCenter every Sunday morning. During it, he usually ranks the top teams around the country.

That’s what he did following Week 9 action, ranking the top 5 teams in the nation. With the first College Football Playoff rankings of the year coming out on Tuesday, Finebaum gave his best prediction of what will happen.

He named his top 5 schools currently, starting at 5 and working his way to 1:

5. Oklahoma Sooners: โ€œThey could easily be No. 4, and theyโ€™re really looking good under Caleb Williams. So, the Sooners are in a good spot if they win out.โ€

4. Cincinnati Bearcats: โ€œRight now, I have Cincinnati in there barely. They have played down to their competition the last couple of weeks. They still win, which is all thatโ€™s important, but theyโ€™re in a beauty contest with this committee. If they donโ€™t start impressing, theyโ€™re going to fall out.โ€

3. Michigan State Spartans: โ€œYou can debate Michigan State and Ohio State, but what they did yesterday was simply spectacular. They won a huge game. They still have big ones left. They still have Ohio State.โ€

2. Alabama Crimson Tide: โ€œThe next team is Bama. They didnโ€™t play yesterday, and they still looked really good. Thatโ€™s how great Alabama is. Their defense needs some work. They have LSU next week.โ€

1. Georgia Bulldogs: โ€œSpeaking of the SEC, Georgia is at No. 1. Anyone who thinks thereโ€™s another team in Georgiaโ€™s zip code, please let me know. Right now, the Dawgs are ruling the country, and theyโ€™re in the No. 1 spot.โ€

We’ll see how accurate Finebaum’s rankings are on Tuesday night.
