South Carolina QB Perry Orth reportedly will miss the remainder of spring practice with a broken collarbone.
According to GamecockCentral.com, the injury was sustained during a closed scrimmage on Saturday.
The website reports that Orth is expected to have surgery this weekend.
Though an official recovery timetable is not available, GamecockCentral.com speculates that he should be recovered by June.
Orth started eight games for South Carolina in 2015, and is considered to be a serious contender in the Gamecocks’ five-man race for the starting job under new coach Will Muschamp and new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper.
