Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy suffered a dislocated shoulder against Texas over the weekend.

Head coach Pete Golding announced that news on Monday afternoon during his weekly press conference. As a result of that injury, Lacy has been ruled out for this week’s game against Auburn.

That’s a big blow for the Ole Miss offense as Lacy is one of the nation’s best running backs when healthy. Lacy is averaging over 5 yards per carry for the second consecutive season. In 2025, he rushed for a staggering 24 touchdowns.

Makhi Frazier has been Ole Miss’s primary backup this season. Frazier is averaging nearly 6 yards per carry but has yet to find the end zone this season. The Rebels will be relying on him much more often in the red zone for as long as Lacy is on the bench.

Last week against Texas, Frazier rushed for 47 yards on 6 carries and also caught 5 passes for 16 yards. Frazier has averaged at least 5 yards per carry in all but one game he’s appeared in this season (Louisville).

Ole Miss and Auburn will kick off at 12:45 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
