The Ole Miss Rebels are 3-0 when Kewan Lacy plays this season. Following the Florida Gators‘ domination of the Rebels without Lacy in Week 4, Ole Miss is 0-1 without him.
Head coach Pete Golding would prefer not to have Lacy on the sidelines if he can avoid it. Fortunately, it appears he’ll get his wish. On Monday, Golding told reporters he “fully anticipates” having Lacy back in action on Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Lacy, who led the country in carries (306) in 2025, has rushed 39 times for 191 yards and four touchdowns in 2026.
He had taken 9 carries for 43 yards and a score before exiting the Rebels’ win vs. the LSU Tigers. Without him, Ole Miss running backs turned 20 carries into 84 yards in Gainesville.

The Rebels’ Week 5 bye couldn’t have come at a better time. Ole Miss surely would have liked to have Lacy for Week 4, but giving him two weeks to heal was the best course of action for their season.
Trinidad Chambliss and Co. are capable of putting points on anybody, which will keep Ole Miss in any game. However, Lacy is the key to salting wins away and keeping opposing offenses off the field.
The Rebels and Commodores play at 3:30 p.m. E.T. (ESPN) on Saturday.
