Philidelphia Eagles release former LSU cornerback after recent signing

Former LSU cornerback Greedy Williams, among others, was released by the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday morning after less than a year with the franchise.
Williams, a 2nd-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, spent his first few seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He signed a 1-year deal with Philly in March of 2023.
2021 was easily Williams’ best season in football. He broke up 10 passes, adding a pair of interceptions with 41 combined tackles. Unfortunately, injury issues plagued his 2022 season, leading to his departure from Cleveland.
Strong performances by some young Eagles corners, including former Alabama DB Josh Jobe, seem to have made it hard for the Philly to justify keeping the veteran who struggled greatly last season in Cleveland.
