Though three-time Pro Bowl DB DeAngelo Hall hasn’t been able to participate in any practices for the Washington Redskins so far this summer as he rehabs a torn ACL, the veteran has made an impact off the field.

That’s because Hall has taken on a mentoring role with former Auburn DB Joshua Holsey, who the Redskins selected in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The ex-Tiger is staying close to Hall during meetings and practices so far, and told Redskins.com that he’s excited to continue learning from the talented veteran:

โ€œAs a young cat, Iโ€™m trying to steal every little bit of knowledge he knows,โ€ Holsey said after a recent practice. โ€œSo every chance I get to talk to him, I talk to him.โ€

Holsey is clearly a fast learner, as Hall said he has liked what he’s seen from the young defender so far this summer:

“Heโ€™s a hell of a player,โ€ Hall said. โ€œThereโ€™s no doubt he can play in this league. Because weโ€™re so deep, who knows whatโ€™s going to happen, but the kid is going to be a player in this league.โ€

How much playing time Holsey receives as a rookie this fall remains to be seen, but the former Auburn standout sounds like he’ll be ready when his name is called.
