Though three-time Pro Bowl DB DeAngelo Hall hasn’t been able to participate in any practices for the Washington Redskins so far this summer as he rehabs a torn ACL, the veteran has made an impact off the field.
That’s because Hall has taken on a mentoring role with former Auburn DB Joshua Holsey, who the Redskins selected in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
The ex-Tiger is staying close to Hall during meetings and practices so far, and told Redskins.com that he’s excited to continue learning from the talented veteran:
โAs a young cat, Iโm trying to steal every little bit of knowledge he knows,โ Holsey said after a recent practice. โSo every chance I get to talk to him, I talk to him.โ
Holsey is clearly a fast learner, as Hall said he has liked what he’s seen from the young defender so far this summer:
“Heโs a hell of a player,โ Hall said. โThereโs no doubt he can play in this league. Because weโre so deep, who knows whatโs going to happen, but the kid is going to be a player in this league.โ
How much playing time Holsey receives as a rookie this fall remains to be seen, but the former Auburn standout sounds like he’ll be ready when his name is called.
