Rapid Reaction: Georgia outlasts Georgia Tech to finish off 11-1 regular season
Georgia defeated rival Georgia Tech 16-9 on Friday afternoon to finish off an 11-1 regular season.
The Bulldogs fell behind 3-0 early in the game, but were able to control things from then on. They scored 13 points in the second quarter to bring a 13-3 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Georgia played without starting center Drew Bobo but was still able to do enough offensively to squeak out a win over the rival Yellow Jackets.
Georgia beat Tech for the 8th consecutive time, matching the longest winning streak by either team in Clean, Old-Fashion Hate series history. Tech beat Georgia 8 consecutive times from 1949-1956.
Georgia will now wait to see if it will get an opportunity to play in the SEC Championship Game next weekend. The Bulldogs will earn a spot in Atlanta if either Alabama or Texas A&M loses in Week 14.
For Georgia Tech, this game means the Yellow Jackets finish the regular season with a 9-3 record. They will now await their bowl assignment on selection day.
