Ole Miss welcomed back former Rebels quarterback Austin Simmons to Oxford as the Rebels took on Mizzou in a game featuring two top 15 teams.
In the end, it was the Rebels that put together a big performance, as they were in control from the beginning of the game en rout to the 31-3 victory.
Leading the way was Trinidad Chambliss, who was 16-of-22 for 241 yards and three touchdowns. The rushing attack was equally impressive, as both Kewan Lacy (16 carries for 122 yards) and Makhi Frazier (15 carries for 101 yards) finished with over 100 yards.

Austin Simmons put up big numbers, but the Tigers weren’t able to capitalize and get points. He finished 25-of-44 for 339 yards and one interception.
However, the biggest surprise of the day was how the Rebels did defensively, stopping Jamal Roberts. In their loss to Florida, the Gators rushed for 302 yards in that game.
On Saturday, the Rebels held Jamal Roberts to only 39 yards on 20 carries. Coach Pete Golding called his defense out after the game against Florida, and his unit responded in a huge way on Saturday.
The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Rebels, as they travel to Austin to take on a Texas team that is desperate for a win after losing two straight games.
