Report: Auburn makes decision on special-teams coordinator

Published:
The Auburn Tigers have a full coaching staff, but it was uncertain who would serve as the team’s special-teams coordinator in 2018.
Last year’s special-teams coordinator, Tim Horton, is still on the staff, but he’ll relinquish that title and focus on coaching running backs.
Now, according to 247Sports, TE coach Larry Porter will be the team’s new coordinator, while still keeping his TE coach position:
Auburn tight ends coach Larry Porter will take on duties as Auburn’s special teams coordinator during the 2018 season, a person familiar with the decision informed Auburn Undercover Wednesday.
The Tigers lost star K Daniel Carlson, who leaves the program as the SEC’s all-time leading scorer. However, they replace him with his younger brother, Anders.
Meanwhile, the other units need to step up or another change could be coming in 2019.
