OwlAccess.com reporter Chuck King has learned that new FAU coach Lane Kiffin will bring Alabama assistant strength and conditioning coach Wilson Love with him to Boca Raton.
Love was a defensive tackle for the Crimson Tide from 2010-13 but did not see the field in his four years as a player. Since then, he has served as a member of Nick Saban’s coaching staff. He reportedly traveled with Kiffin for his introductory press conference Tuesday and will become his first hire at FAU.
This might not be the only Alabama coach that Kiffin takes with him.
“That is definitely a possibility,” Kiffin said during his presser, regarding his new staff. “Obviously we’ve got some great coaches at Alabama in roles where they would come here, enhanced roles. That’s definitely an option.”
Kiffin will continue to serve his role as offensive coordinator for the Tide throughout the College Football Playoff.
