Robert Griffin III sprints out of Fiesta Bowl broadcast after learning wife is in labor

Robert Griffin III is part of ESPN2’s “Field Pass with The Pat McAfee Show” alternate broadcast of the Fiesta Bowl between Michigan and TCU, along with ESPN’s Cole Cubelic, Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, and former NFL OL and frequent “Pat McAfee Show” guest A.Q. Shipley. (Yes, that’s what it’s called; McAfee is at the Peach Bowl and will host ESPN2’s alternate broadcast of that one.)
However, while the on-the-field action is heating up — Michigan is looking to erase a deficit against TCU — Griffin had to take off early. But it was for a good reason: he had learned his wife is in labor with the couple’s 3rd child together. He has a 4th child from a previous relationship.
ESPN2 cameras caught Griffin literally sprinting away from the sidelines after getting the call that his wife wasn’t too far off from giving birth:

Griffin certainly showed his wheels as a Heisman Trophy-winning dual-threat quarterback with Baylor, then throughout an NFL career that lasted 9 seasons.
Best wishes to Griffin and his wife on their new arrival!
